Why the low rating?

I just saw this movie for the first time in 20 years. It was never my favorite in the series, but after seeing it again for the second time, I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. There was never a bad Lethal Weapon in my opinion. But this is how I rank them:

Lethal Weapon

Lethal Weapon 2

Lethal Weapon 4

Lethal Weapon 3

It is a little inferior to the first two, mainly because of Travis being a less menacing villain than the first two, but it was the funniest of the four, I think. Though I wouldn't consider 6.7 a 'low' rating. 6.0 would be 'low' for this series. I've been spending today rewatching these movies (and The Last Boy Scout since it feels a LOT like a Lethal Weapon spin-off or something) to update my ratings and opinions on each of them and I'm watching this one right now, and I have to say I'm enjoying it a lot more now than I remember back then.
My ranking would be:

Lethal Weapon 2
Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon 4
Lethal Weapon 3

EDIT-I changed my mind; after finishing the marathon last night I actually like 3 better than 4, so...

Lethal Weapon 2
Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon 3
Lethal Weapon 4

I can't imagine anyone rating part 4 higher than the others. It was just...off...in every single way. It doesn't fit with the series at all.

reply

3 is actually my favorite LW flick.

Same here.

My rankings in order:

- Lethal Weapon 3

- Lethal Weapon 2

- Lethal Weapon

- Lethal Weapon 4

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

It certainly doesn't suck, but it's my least favorite Lethal Weapon film.

Pleasantly surprised is exactly what I came on here to say. So far I have watched 1-3 and I rate this one ahead of 2. I am watching 4 later tonight. This one had more humor than the other movies, so I bet it's rated low by annoying people who think every movie in the series must be the same percentage of serious vs. humor.
