Amazing bomb scene

At the beginning, the building that blows is a real explosion (all of the stunts and explosions are real in LW series, no CGI)

That was amazing; in the commentary they asked Donner how close Mel and Danny were to the actual explosion. He said they are running out of the building just as seen in the film, it explodes and they are at the car that close to what is left of the building. SUPER COOL...love the 80s and real action scenes.

I lived in Lancaster when they filmed this and I remember everyone watching them light the Legends housing tract on fire.
On here is says it was "outside Lancaster" but it wasn't. If I remember right, it wasn't too far from AV College.
Too bad they don't do real fire anymore, because it beats CGI any day.
