Wow, I forgot how Kamen...

Basically he just went to his work on the 'Die Hard' films and said to Silver/Donner "Here you go, I created this great Score for you, COMPLETELY Original Stuff" lol...

I mean, I don't mind when Composers use Cues from other film scores or pieces of music and insert them into other films but sometimes it's just TOO much. I like Kamen alot, he created some wonderful contributions to Cinema and I'm not bashing HIM so to say... It just seems lazy that nobody noticed (Or cared?) that there are major scenes where the great Score that defined THIS Action Franchise is substituted with the Great Score that defined the other MAJOR Action Franchise of the Era.

Can you provide some examples? It's been a while since I've seen this one or Die Hard to really be able to compare.

Plus is it really fair to accuse Kamen of cribbing from his Die Hard score considering Lethal Weapon was made before that one, and therefore he created the Lethal Weapon sound first?

So I hear Dads dead, hey is that eggnog?

I'd have to watch again to give exact scenes but you're on the Lethal Weapon THREE board and Die Hard was actually made BEFORE this. It's not noticeable in 1 or 2, it was specifically this. I watched the series in order recently and it was only in this film. I believe it was the Hockey Game but I'll have to rewatch. It was too obvious though, just felt lazy or maybe Donner rushed him into finishing the score.

he was right to ask you for examples as judging by your reply you know nothing!

lethal weapon 3 has actually a distinctive soundtrack with, say, "its probably me" sung by sting at the start of the movie and what a wonderful song it is

at the end they play"runaway train" sung by elton john from "the one" album i think , an album i bought on cassette tape in 1992

On July 9th, the day of my original post, it was absolutely noticeable and I'll watch Part 3 again just to give more examples. I wouldn't post it just to talk smack, however, it's lazy work. The Hockey Game is just one specific example I remember but it's used throughout the film. I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't hear it enough to bother me.

its probably the only action movie in existence with 2 original songs that bookend it as i stated previously so u picked the wrong movie to pick on
ITS PROBABLY ME for example is a delicious irrestible sting song....what a great song to start a movie with!
the rest of the movie has a standard action movie soundtrack from the 1990s
i thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the soundtrack was no problem
