'I have to go now, Terry'

I found that part really depressing. When the drunk irishman landscaper is under Jobe's control and he drives him to VSI; he says to him "I have to go now, Terry" in this very depressing manner indicating that he'll never see him again. I just always got depressed and sad at that part. He shows his human side to the few people that were kind to him.

It was even more sad right after he says "I have to go now Terry" that soldier shoots and kills Terry. It was really hits me.

Only people with money say that money doesn't matter.

Yeah, Jeff Fahey was pretty damn good in this movie. He plays a very sympathetic character for most of the movie & it makes it hard to dislike him when he turns digitally psychotic.

The themes in this movie are quite intriguing & complex.

I used to have the Willem Dafoe living under my bed.

IMO one of the best scenes in the movie; it shows Jobe full circle. Besides saving Peter it's the last time Jobe shows his humanity and his soul. Terry, Peter, and the woman and to a point Angelo were the only ones who treated Jobe worth a crap. Terry's bro did awful things to him, the idiot bully beat Jobe up, and Peter's dad was an ass. It's debatable the woman used him and to a point she did for sex but deep down before the VR sex scene went haywire it showed she cared for him. Him not so much after that VR nightmare scene. He just dumps her to the side and focus on himself while she goes crazy. Sad.

Anyway as for Terry he along with Peter treated Jobe with respect. I watched this on TCM last week for the first time in a while and it struck me how well Fahey sold the scene. He treated Terry with respect; I think he considered him a brother. He defended Jobe the best he could and I loved the scenes where he rooted for him to get laid and have fun. I think deep down Jobe's soul was trying to take over but it was fading away. It sucked seeing Terry get killed; however to see Jobe get legitly pissed off and destroy the guard was gold. He deserved it.

Kinda wished Terry had lived but at least he had a fitting revenge thru Jobe.

Its 27 years old, i believe it takes 25 years for something to be recognized as historical collectible, so why not for a movie classic?
