Loved the song
The one Pitt sings in that abandoned building. Don't remember what its called.
Turn a frown upside down...and keep frowning.

Howard Stern played a CD once which was a compilation of songs sung by movie stars and Howard played the song you mention. It's plainly listed in the movie's credits. My DVD of the movie is 2000 miles away from me right now, so I can't check the credits, but I believe it's called "Midtown."
Samuel L. Jackson has a small role as a musician in Johnny Suede's band.
The closest thing I've found to a soundtrack to "Johnny Suede" is a Link Wray CD from 89 or 90 which is a combination of 2 albums on 1 CD which has 3 instrumentals from the movie on it. Again, my CD is 2000 miles away, so I can't remember the CD's exact title.
Link Wray, R.I.P.
"Midtown" cool! I didn't even know a soundtrack existed for this movie! I'll have to hunt one down.
Illiterates don't have to read this.
This is one of my all-time favorite movies and one that really symbolizes independent filmmaking.
The CD you speak of is called "Apache/Wild Side of the City Lights".
I too searched out the Link Wray songs and ended up with this wonderful double album put out by ACE Records out of the UK. It's probably still available on Amazon.
The songs are "Hotel Lonliness", "Don't Leave me", "Viva Zapata", three of the best guitar instrumentals ever recorded.
