Better than the original?
...
shareI wouldn't say better, but it's pretty good for a sequel in my honest opinion.
shareNot quite but it is one of the best sequel films I've ever seen.
shareI wouldn't say better, but it's a decent follow-up story. It's essentially the same script, but the location is switched to NYC and the antics and drama are turned up a few notches.
shareI've always preferred the sequel, though knowing there's nothing wrong with the original.
shareNo, it is definitely weaker than the original. The pigeon Lady is weaker than Marley - who was the weak point in Home alone 1. Duncan's shop and Duncan where over the top as where the Hotel employees. The wet bandits were as good as in the original but had less screen time.
shareno, no, no, no home alone 2 is much worse,
i will not ever watch it again.
because i am indeed in a process of boycotting it and watching home alone 1 ONLY.
i refuse to watch home alone 2 because it's sad all right that hillary wolf/megan quit acting all together right after home alone 2.
and it's sad all right that angela goethals/linnie from home alone 1 is absent in home alone 2.
because both of them make me laugh in home alone 1 and those issues with them are why i've been driven away from home alone 2 FOREVER.
I enjoy it, but it’s more a guilty pleasure than anything else. While it does have it’s charm and some genuinely funny moments, it mostly follows the typical sequel formula of being basically a pointless rehash of the first, only bigger and stupider.
shareLook up the Doctor videos on YouTube analyzing the movie. Harry and Marv would be dead multiple times over by the end of the movie. If you like more cruel cartoonish violence but with the heart of the story Home alone is miles better as a movie.
shareHonestly, the traps in this movie are less slapstick and more outright dangerous, with Kevin seemingly out to maim the sticky bandits rather than fend them off.
