How would Ricky have treated Lingk if he came to the office after the three days and the check was cashed?

Now that he got all he wanted from the guy would he still try to be the slick yet falsely caring salesman and treat him with kid gloves or would he not even expend the energy and take the attitude "I already have your money and it's a done deal, now get the fuck out of here."?

Probably gaslight him, as nicely as he can.

No, no, no. The check went to the bank. That's what I told you.

That’s actually an interesting question

My first instinct is to think Ricky would just shut Lingk out; the deal’s done and can’t be undone, so screw’im

But then I thought of what Moss said about selling the customer five cars over fifteen years. Ricky’s smart; he’d probably string Lingk along for a while, potentially even selling him MORE worthless land.

We actually get to see this exact scenario play out in “Boiler Room,” where Giovanni Ribisi’s character sold penny stocks to a guy who phones in a panic when the stock starts crashing. Ribisi’s character then sells the guy even MORE of the crashing stock.

I never saw Boiler Room but understood it's a similar premise. Worth checking out?

Worth it for the sales & con-job aspects, though it’s not as theatrical (having not been adapted from a stage play)
