Is this a sci-fi viewers movie?
Eh?
shareEh, . . . only if you're looking for a slighly cheesy time travel movie with a little light humor thrown into an action backfround. Oh, and a side order of an advanced computer story line about computer capabilities of maintaining a human soul (remniscent consciousness, i guess) thrown in - OH, (sorry) and Mick Jagger in a cheesy role as a leader of bounty hunters going mano a mano matching witts against a former brat packer (hey, that can't be too difficult, can it???). . . .
Hey, I kinda liked the movie, on the cheesy level, of course, but I wasn't expecting an Orson Wells' classic either - like so many of the others who have posted their movie hatred all over this board!!!
Most people aspire to drink from the fountain of knowledge, i just wanna gargle
I enjoy it only BECAUSE of it's sci-fi elements. the action and some movement parts are pretty typical and predictable, but the actual underlying [main] story is pretty good sci-fi and I found that part interesting and worth the watch. especially the way things unfolded. The movie was certianly 'OK', but I gotta think if is was written and produced a little differently, it could have been another Blade Runner. It was based on a book, so that is always a good start for an interesting and coherent plot in a movie. several turns at the end are done pretty well and make for a good finale. I pull this one out to watch every now and again
shareIf you're asking if Si-Fi Channel produced this movie the answer is no. It's a Morgan Creek Production distributed by Warner Brothers and was shown worldwide in theaters. I thought it was an okay flick except for Mr. Jagger's lame performance.
shareDefinitely. It has time travel, some very passable special effects (vehicles notwithstanding), and the ubiquitous financial governor,'in charge' but ultimately screwed by his own mental and bodily limitations.
A plot-line that is up there with the best.
And RepoMan would be a shadow of a film without 'brat-pack' Estevez.
