David Johansen ... Brad Carter

i was just curious if anyone else knew that he was the singer of the new york dolls?
and what anyone thought of his acting.

i thought he did a pretty good job, not that i liked the character, he was a big time jerk trader to his best friend.

Yes, that absolutely is the same David Johansen. He also played the Ghost of Christmas Past in Bill Murray's 'Scrooged' and was known as 'Buster Poindexter' musically for a time.

wow, cool thank you for the extra info, really very neat to
learn these things, i have always wondered about him, and when
i saw a special on the new york dolls a few nights ago (not sure how old) it was when centered more around the bassist and the reunion concert they did,
but when i saw david johansen's face i was like omg that is the guy from............... thanks......

Of course, I recognize Buster Poindexter anywhere.

Hot, Hot, Hot is on the soundtrack of my childhood. There were a few years you'd have to be living under a rock to get away from the song.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

He also had a bit part in a Miami Vice episode, as David Johansen, singing King Of Babylon.

My favourite part he's played was the taxi-driver/buddy in Let it Ride.

Alex wasn't his best friend; he didn't even know Brad had him insured for the crash. Like he said: I insure all my drivers. Doesn't sound like a friend that good to me.

"He didn't. I lied: he wasn't even close." Victor Vacendak

It's hard not to miss Davis Johansen because he's a highlight of this film for me. What a career that man has had!
