Longer version?

Is there a longer version out there somewhere? I watched this on Netflix last night and while I thoroughly enjoyed it you can tell it was heavily edited especially near the end. I think sadly it was heavily cut by the studio before release, I bet there are loads of deleted scenes.

i saw it on cable (one of the OnDemand things similar to netflix)... and i can assure you this was edited down. there are certain scenes, most involving heather graham were trimmed down quite a bit. i don't know what the reasons could be behind it.

Beware, reading too far down gets you to a signature.

Came here to ask the same question.

There was a LOT of late editing done in this.

For example, there was some kind of "juice" they used to get the one boxer to have gas. I'm wondering if some "brand name" product was referred to in the shooting but then shot down by legal.

What's weird is how it seems like all the trims happen once the first match gets underway. Up to the hour mark everything seems to be neat and orderly and setting the film up to have two distinct halves: Setting up the wager and the training the fighters, and the 2nd half be the fights mixed with behind the scenes resolutions to the half dozen subplots in the film (And having characters just scowl at Bruce Dern is not a resolution to their story). It seems that no one had faith that the audience would give a *beep* about anything besides guys punching each other in the face.

What the hell was going on with Randall "Tex" Cobb and Heather Graham's characters, anyway? (SPOILERS) When Wolf "Arrives" at the Train Station and James Woods is trying to explain to Heather Graham, James Woods's performance gives off a distinctly insincere vibe, like he was lying to her about what happened to her bro-ski.

What happened to Oliver Platt's character, too? It seems like the suits thought that Lake Placid would dilute the partnership between Videodrome and Iron Eagle?
