Gallegos

Why is it that Gallegos wanted to Kill David And John even though they killed felix barbossa? This doesn't make sense.

reply

Gallegos would have had to kill them for the same reason that John had to kill Ivey in the beginning.

Felix worked for Gallegos, and as such, should have been under Gallegos' protection.

If Gallegos had let the murder of his number one California distrubutor go unpunished, it could have been viewed as a sign of weakness, which would have lost Gallegos the respect (or fear) of the people working for him.

Not to mention, the fact that Gallegos' main "West Coast cash cow" had been slaughtered would have hampered the amount of money coming in.

It might have even prompted an ambitious underling to try and kill him and take his spot atop the food chain.

Gallegos had to kill John and David, no two ways about it.

Yeah no doubt, he even says to John's face in the movie

"Everyone's saying that i should kill you... the only reason i'm keeping you alive is so that i can get something out of you!"

As well as Glocktwentysevens point he wanted the so called debt that Felix Barbosa owed him, John and David bought Felix's debt when they killed him so he expected them to pay the money back... he also had the power and status to lie about the amount and get some extra cash which is what he did... as soon as he had recieved this payment he would've given the orders for our two Main's to be taken out.

John's Ball's and Street Knowledge is the only thing that saves them... he said it best when they take Gallegos out

"He would've killed us anyway, i could tell when i looked in his eyes!"
