Does anyone know if there is going to be a special edition of this released anytime soon? I've got the original DVD, and if memory serves I don't think there was a whole lot on it for special features, just a cast & crew bio and trailer. I'd like to see a few music video's at least...the old school rap they've got in this movie is fantastic. Some deleted scenes would also be nice. Any info?????

Unfortunatly no. Maybe someday though. I'd like to see a commentary track at least.

I really hope there is one or an uncut version. Has anyone noticed in [the UK] trailer there was a scene that is not in the movie. I think it was Jeff or Laurence throwing a suitcase of cash over a balcony inside a house. How fustrating to knwo theres more thats not in the release. I have seen the UK dvd and cinema release and the australian dvd, usa dvd and all are the same.

The "old skool rap" is mostly taken from ICEBERG SLIM, his album REFLECTIONS. Icebrg Slim is most famously known for his book PIMP and LOST INTERVIEWS WITH THE PIMPa new book has just come out.

He was the real deal and has inspired lots of rappers and story writers.

Fishbourne also quotes his rhymes a lot in another movie I can't remember the name. But I would say if you like Deep Cover you may like the earthy street atmosphere and stories of PIMP by Iceberg Slim.
