Best scene in the movie

is when doug gives kate that smart-a** smile right before she breaks his nose with the slap-shot! epic!!

Toe pick!

Its probably when she comes clean about what happened in the last Olympics.

That is definitely Kate's most lovable scene. The "ice-queen" was melted from then on.

Too bad they couldn't think of anything for Doug to say. More could have been done with that scene.

reply

lol! but the toe-pick scene rules, imo.

I love the bar scene. I think Moira Kelly's facial expressions as she does the Tequilla shots are adorable. Her loosening up. I like the following scene in the hotel room. My first time viewing the scene, I felt the disappointement that Kate and Doug had words after a great night. (I wonder if I can relate to that too much...lol).

Her last ditch attempt to fail at the olympics.
She never really wants to win.
This has been her problem and blames it on the partner.
Doug new this and he wasn't going to let her throw it all away.
This is the point where she begins to melt.

I don't know what is wrong with the world - but I know how to fix it.

When they are ready to skate their first program and he runs back to throw up. He comes back and tells her is passes and that it usually 10 minutes for him to warm up in a game. "Our program is two and a half minutes", she says. He replies plainly, "So eight minutes after we're done, I'll be fine." LOL. That always gets me.

The hospital scene were Doug comes out in a wheel chair and his face has bandages on it. And he says Toe pick! So funny!!

For me it's in the finale where Doug tells her he loves her, the totally stunned look on her face is EPIC and well played by Kelly, and the way people keep shoving her to get past and she's still so shocked she doesn't even notice it is a great touch!

The two of them were so into it that the tension was palpable between them! Wonderful job by the two of them.

When Kate tells Doug her and Hale are through and she gives him a look as she's sipping a glass of water that said "Do Me". I would've taken that little monkey to pound town right there.

Lots of good scenes but best moment for me was when the skater fell and Doug and Kate discovered they were "Back In". Full of energy!

Also enjoyed the conversations that Anton was having with himself about Smilkov & Brushkin to coax the angry skaters into checking out his suggestion of new moves.
