, Kurt russel was the original inspiration for Snake. MGS solid creator Hideo Kojima was inspired by his Character Snake Plisken (Plisken was also Solid Snakes alias in MGS2) in the movie "Escape from New York", i think he resembels Naked snake more then Solid tho
