I disagree. The series was superior because it brought a subject to prime time which was unique. And every episode could explore different themes related to vampirism. It was truly unique for a tv show. The movie was a one shot deal and a rather mediocre one at that.
ok onan if you like buffy then i respect your taste as you are good person. you are not bogtrotting philisines that is aimed at peoples who have shit tastes in everything else.
if you want to know what 'bogtrotting philistine' definition is onan, then you must ask man call 'SeanJoyce' who posted on old imdb.
SeanJoyce was angry man who use to call peoples this phrase all the time, aimed at someone who had shit taste. but i had no fucking idea what this prick mean when he say this but i found it funny anyway so i use it hahaah
i have try to find this man on here but i think he vanish along with old imdb. i would recognise his post style cos he was an asshole, and like martin riggs say, i never forget an asshole.
i have however spotted many good peoples from old imdb like harvey but most are not here.
harvey is harveymanfredsaintjohn or something. i do not know exact full name but he post on here a lot. i remember him from old imdb and he is decent man.
i think harvey used same name from old imdb. that is only reason i remember him as he have distinctive name.
i do not remember you as gameboy. i would read many boards, mostly expendables, but i would not post as i could not write in english when old imdb was around.
I remember you as Gameboy. Well, I remember the poster. I also remember harveymanfredsaintjohn. We indeed lost a lot of really great posters when IMDB closed its forums. I've found a few on here that I used to talk to regularly, but some are probably gone for good.
And I think keelai replied to one of my posts last night, and some other weird poster names otter. Both of them seem unstable.
keelai and otter probably same peoples - keelai have many socks. when you weigh 5000 pounds like keelai does, and you look like jabba the hut, it mean it you do not go out very much, so that is why keelai spend her life on here whining about race and men 24/7 with socks.
i wonder who keelai was on old imdb. i do not remember this fugly beast keelai on old imdb. i would remember this hamplanet, her post style stick out.
There are too many beasts like that in the world nowadays. they are always complaining about how they are oppressed by men. I'd like to see any of them leave and go to a third world country where women are beaten and stoned to death and then have them compare that to how "oppressed" they are in more civilized countries. It's sad that there are so many stupid women in the world who have no idea how good they have it.
As cute as Sarah Michelle is, I too preferred the movie. I saw one episode of the TV series and thought that it was one of the stupidest things that I ever saw in my life.
keelai hates all man because she cant get any decent man to pump her fat ass. all fugly woman like keelai have this same terrible attitude because it is just pain for them. keelai is sad old woman with nothing to do in life but hate on man.
she also obsess with white peoples and white man because no white man would dare stick his boner into this blimp. that is her pain. keelai probably eats white people. fucking retard never shuts up about them 24/7. what kind of life does this fucktard keelai have? horrible hamplanet.
yes you are correct - western feminist woketard bitch about there countrys but would not last 10 seconds in other places. there are honor killings in my society. a man killed his sister because she look at man. fucking woketards complain about equal pay, they get everything in west hahaha
the buffy tv show is the worst fucking thing i have ever seen hahahah
Although I still like the film, it lacks a seriousness to it. I know it's a crazy concept but the film is like watching a group of friends make a film for laughs.
I prefer the film. The TV show is objectively better, but Joss Whedon's smug, 'sassy' writing can often be a chore to sit through, and although he wrote the original film too, it's more bearable, because clearly the film doesn't take itself seriously, and Whedon isn't constantly trying to shove his pseudo-'feminist' BS in our face. The irony is that Whedon's try-hard 'feminism' clearly turned out to be a mask for his *actual* misogyny, whereas the film, which he publicly derided, was directed by an *actual* woman (but, hey, we all know by now what self-identifying 'feminist' Joss Whedon thinks of women in the workplace...)
Sarah Michelle Gellar was a more convincing *vampire slayer* than Kristy Swanson, but that was part of Swanson's appeal as Buffy (other than her evident physical beauty); she really did seem like a genuine dumbass Valley Girl who was incongruously thrust into the role of an action hero. By contrast, we never saw SMG play the bimbo aspects of Buffy, so her becoming a vampire slayer was less of a shock; it would have been funnier and more surprising if, say, Cordelia had turned out to be The Chosen One.
I love the film bc this is how the world first met Buffy. No film would have meant no TV show. There was an audience who had seen the 1992 movie and really wanted a tv show. I was ecstatic when the tv show was announced.
No the movie special effects are not great (it's 1992 and the idea of a female vampire slayer was 'controversial') but we're not watching it for the special effects. It is to see how Buffy does become the slayer.
I think I first saw the film about six months after the TV show started. I should probably watch it again. Tbh, I'd forgotten Paul Reubens was in it until I saw it mentioned after his death.
I saw the movie in 1992 and loved it. I had a huge crush on Kristy Swanson, and I thought Paul Reubens was hilarious as Amilyn (especially his death scene). When the show came out, I was excited about it. I watched the first season, and never watched another episode again. Still haven't seen it to this day, nor do I have any real intention of doing so.
