Oh how original another post ripping into Keanu and Winona performances.

How bout we focus on the positives and there are so many in this feature but can we finally give some love to Mr. TOM WAITS!! His Renfield is outstanding. In the book, he ate bugs and was obsessed with life. Tom Waits portrays the fractured mind of Renfield to perfection. The guys plays crazy better than some crazy people. But please continue blather on about how bad Winona and Keanu are.

Yes, W and K both sucked. So glad W is finally becoming yesterday's old news.

The negatives far outweigh them.

You didn't watch this movie.

I wish I hadn't.

Tom Waits was fantastic. I wished we had been able to see more of him.

I would've loved a scene between him and Gary Oldman.

You are sin.

Recently rewatched this movie and I will gladly admit that it has some big flaws, Keanu is possibly the worst element in the movie. He sounds like an American trying to sound British for a laugh and acts like a block of wood with a dopy face painted on it. Winona was not as bad, maybe because acting alongside K in this movie would make everyone seem better.

Her accent for the most part seemed to hold up but I do think if K was not in this film I would have more bad things to say about her.

I do agree that Tom Waits is amazing to behold. I love a good madman performance.

I'm the first person to jump to Reeves' defence when people boringly complain about his acting but he was not at his best here.

He did what he could given the fact that Coppola seemed uninterested in guiding his actors on this film (from what I've heard at any rate).

Winona is talented - Age of Innocence, case in point, but her voice was damned annoying here.

None of that matters when Oldman is there to make the experience worthwhile.

Also the film is absolutely stunning visually, lush and gorgeous.

And Tom Waits was a delightful surprise.
