Meaning of the title in relation to this movie
Belle Epoque is a French term that describes the period in European history between the end of the Franco-Prussian War (1871) and the beginning of WWI (1914). At least that's according to a simple internet search. It translates to "beautiful era".

As this movie takes place in 1931, I'm curious why the title. Surely with all the storm clouds on the horizon in Spain, and the characters being aware of the conflict between Republicans and Communists, it seems odd to describe it as a "beautiful era".
