I saw it today for the first time and it was hilarious

Oh Dear, what did I do to deserve a Heifers Only Hate Club.

I loved Belle Époque, its quite charming, sexy and hilarious, but being honest IMO "Farewell my Concubine" it's a better movie.

I am not gonna say that "Farewell My Concubine" deserves the Oscar because I haven't seen yet "The Scent of Green Papaya" neither "Hedd Wyn".
But between Belle Époque, The Wedding Banquet, and Farewell my Concubine, the latter IMO is the best.

Having said that I still think BE is a quite good movie and one that made me laugh a lot.

I vote por The scent of the Green Papaya.

Almost enough to make me learn Spanish except I'm absolutely horrible at learning new languages (in San Diego for 25 years and know only poco, poco, damned poco Spanish). I shall though make a point of seeing "Scent of the Green Papaya" and "Farewell My Concubine". Thanks for the recommendations.

Only two things are actually knowable:
It is now and you are here. All else is merely a belief.
