Fernando at the end
Just watched this movie again after many years. It is still one of my favorite ones. I loved, loved scenes with their mom, singing an aria, their happiness at seeing her and closeness they express cramming her bed and talking; these are my favorite parts
Anyway, I have a question: Fernando doesn't look happy at the end with wedding and all and is definitely sad and wistful with other sisters leaving.
I makes me think he'd just prefer to keep them all around, and chooses Luz only since this is not possible. Luz, his least favorite, barely more than a kid he didn't really pay attention at all. The question is: why did he get married at all? Only because she was available and happened to fall in love with him, whereas the older sisters were more or less playing their games with him? If what he said (that he loved only her from the beginning etc) was the truth, it was nowhere to be seen throughout the movie.
Agree or disagree with me?
