I thought Tim Curry was Jafar

Weird.

reply

Because they sound nothing alike?

reply

I can kind of see it, but Jonathan Freeman plays Jafar with a very smooth/silky voice (if you know what I mean ) and Tim Curry has a very distinct voice, which isn't easily mistaken. They both pull off very convincing villain voices though, so I think I get what you mean.

reply

it's kind of odd, because i thought so too. maybe it's because Tim looks like Jafar?

What on earth are you lot talking about, Jafar sounds or looks ZERO like Tim Curry?

reply

I can hear it.. I would never make the mistake but Tim Curry can put on a very smooth voice. If you've heard some of his voice work like Doviculous in Brutal Legend for example I could say has a very similar quality. Also I forgot the other role I was going to mention now. haha..

When me and my brother were kids we always thought Alan Rickman voiced him.

"No officer! I swear!" Al, Toy Story 2

...are you maybe thinking of Ferngully? Because that almost makes sense, but then it doesn't.

reply

I take it Jonathan Freeman fooled you well, but Tim Curry has voiced a couple of Disney villains but not Jarfar

reply

I thought Joe Pesci voiced Iago lol.

So basically, every person who ever acted in any of the Home Alone movies was in Aladdin. Donald Trump was the peddler, no? 😉 But seriously, he did sometimes sound like Tim Curry to me in certain line reads. One that comes to mind was "fetch me the lamp!"

Wildcattin'...Wildcattin'. Pow! I'm gonna go.
