Please explain 28,000,000 plot whole

Ok so this movie budget clearly states that this movie cost that much to make but how? I don't think the full house kid was companding a huge salary in cash buckies plus old school animation and Robin Williamns probalbly made about 5 million for being the Geanie so please EXP{LAOIN!! How they wasted that much American money,.

reply

Robin Williams was paid little for this movie. Animation is very expensive, especially at the level Disney brings it.

reply

How much is little?

reply

I think scale, basically celebrity minimum wage.

reply

SO like 2 million or the same as the full house kid?

reply

Like $50 and validated parking. Then they sold his image and made a ton. Yay.

reply

Did he get any royalties?

reply

Yes, but he unwisely invested them in Pogs and Netscape.

reply

LOL! I hope you made the transition to MC, and if so, I demand to know your new name!!!

reply

No, Robin Williams was paid $75,000, the standard SAG salary scale in those days. And according to a Los Angeles Times article, by the time the Williams-Disney feud was made public, Williams was unable to sue Disney so he didn't recover any royalties.

Williams, who won critical acclaim for his voice work as the chameleonlike wisecracking Genie in the 1992 film, said it was too late for him to sue the studio but said he was hurt and indicated that he may not work for Disney again.

reply

This is accurate. I was exaggerating, just a little...

reply

But no NO!! cause then he did the third one right? 75,000 for Alladan seems paltry

reply

He did get more for Aladdin 3. On top of an apology, he received a 1 million dollar salary, which, if you adjust for inflation, comes out to about 13.5 billion in today's money.

reply

What did they apologize to him for doing tohim ?

That's quite the rate of inflation

reply

Joe Roth, speaking on behalf of Disney, apologized to Williams for breaching on his contract to not use his voice in the merchandise products inspired by Aladdin.

"Robin complained that we took advantage of his performance as the Genie in the film, exploiting him to promote some other businesses inside the company," Roth told The Times. "We had a specific understanding with Robin that we wouldn't do that. (Nevertheless) we did that. We apologize for it."

reply

So why did Robin do it for 75,000 dollars and how much did he make for the 3rd one please?

I know Tim ALlen only got 50,000 for TOy Story 1 then like 5 mil for #2 so was it like that/

reply

Why would he do it for that little money

reply

Robin Williams joined the film for artistic reasons. He didn't do it for the money. Thats why he didn't want his character to be used in marketing or merchandise. Hence why the small fee.

Disney did it anyway which is what pissed Williams off.

reply

On top of an apology, he received a 1 million dollar salary, which, if you adjust for inflation, comes out to about 13.5 billion in today's money.

LOL..

Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum. Is very bad.

reply

We're lucky he came back for King of Thieves.

reply

this sounds true actually

reply

Can you please learn the difference between whole and hole? Thanks.

reply

pretty sure old school animation is more expensive since it takes time and effort.
