Did this show every scare anyone else as a kid?
I used to LOVE this show when I was a kid, but after it was over, I was so nervous going to bed at night. The show used to scare the CRAP out of me! Anyone else?

oh god yes. between that and unsolved mysteries i was a wreck for years hahaha. then x files came along and added aliens to the list of crap i was scared of. as far as i was concerned, my living room and garage was haunted til i was probably 12. at least when the lights were off hahaha
shareHaha, it scared me when I was a kid too, yet I couldn't stay away from it. It didn't help that it aired in the middle of the night either! I would watch it right before I went to sleep, paranoid.
shareI used to watch this show so much growing up. I remember it coming on Saturday afternoons and nights. It still scares me to this day.
Tony Montana is hella sexy
OMG!!! this show used to come on saturday at midnight. i was about 12 years old and it used to scare the sh!t out me. especially the alien abduction re-enactments and the end of the world.
no risk, no reward.
Completely. This show is one of the scariest memories i have as a kid. I remember sitting in my basement watching an episode of an alien abduction where they had a shot of an alien staring in someone's basement window...
I SWEAR out of the corner of my eye i saw a figure suddenly at MY basement window....
Freaked me right out.
My buddy and i used to talk on the phone while the show was going on, and i remember he got completely freaked out by one of the Men In Black episodes.. Picture the biggest guy at your high school in grade 9 begging you not to hang up the phone out of fear that MIB was coming to his door.....
Great memories :P
LOL!!!! i used to watch this show over the phone too with a girlfriend of mine back in junior high. we would turn off all the light in our room and watch sightings. of course i NEVER turn my lights off, i just said it did.
no risk, no reward.
Oh my god I remember this show. Every morning during the summer I'd watch it, since it came on at like 9, and it scared me SO much. I loved it. I miss it so much
"Why would they want the Duke's...son killed?"
Sightings used to come out on Friday nights at 9 in my area. I used to watch it right before I went to bed and the UFO segments scared me more than ghost segments. The reruns on Sci-Fi even scared me during the day.
shareSightings inspired my school paper (which was a alternative to the official school paper) during my freshman year of high school. my paper been around since middle school and always had conspiracy paranormal stuff. but it was primarily about current events, sports, politics, games and comics. but this show inspired me to add more and more conspiracy, and paranormal parts to it. i was eerily fascinated by this stuff. the first season was scary as hell.
sharethis was water cooler stuff for me and my elementary/middle school classmates. hell during PE we would forgo playing just to huddle around and discuss, and theorize about this show. we would get chills discussing this stuff.
shareSame with me. It came on a weekend night- either Friday or Saturday, I can't recall. Monday morning there would be two or three of us that would scare the rest of the kids recapping the shows segments, always pointing out that "It's all TRUE, too!"
shareeven the opening credits scared me as a kid. real eerie
IM RUNNIN THIS MONKEY FARM NOW FRANKENSTEIN! AND I WANNA KNOW WHAT THE F&$K UR DOIN WITH MY TIME!
YES!!!! I was affected by the aliens stuff... this series and the movie Communion gave me nightmares for yearsssssssssssssssss.
shareLOL I know. Looked forward to watching this show at night. Was about 7 at the time. When I would go to bed I would be frozen with fear because I thought I was going to be abducted. It didn't help that my bed was right next to the window... Was also a big fan of Unsolved Mysteries.. Ahhh being a child in the 90s was the best. No over protective parents scared of letting you watch anything because god forbid you have a nightmare. Kids are really missing out on good TV and movies these days
shareI was only about 4 or 5 when the show first aired. They continued showing reruns on Sci-Fi channel for bit and that was how I caught it. The opening credits always scared the crap out of me. Watching the episodes about alien abduction and ghost investigations always made me want to hide underneath the covers. In fact, my parents wanted me to stop watching it because they thought it was making me paranoid (which it was). Also the show Tales from the Darkside and Tales from the Crypt also had really creepy introductions.
shareYes, it has been said by many but this show scared the f--- out of me as a kid, alien abduction was my childhood biggest fear becase of this and Unsolved Mysteries. I watched horror movies from the age of about 8 on and that, Are You Afraid of the Dark, and other things aimed to scare pre-teens never bothered me, but many a night I would wake up in bed scared as sh-- about aliens inspired by shows like this.
shareit all depends on what time you watch the show what mood you are in to feel creeped out, the most would be the MIB episode and the Alien abduction episodes cause when i was little, i would fear that alines would take me up and expirement on me. some times the ghost episode would creep me out even with the audio recordings.
shareYes it scared me. The one that scared me the most was the segment on the late Frank Bender and his uncanny ability to create a bust accurately depicting what an unidentified person may have looked like in life. In the segment a new bust of a deceased child was revealed, which scared me a great deal for some reason. Years later, I read an article about this case being brought to a close. A relative of the child saw Bender's bust (though I don't remember from where) and called law enforcement. The little boy was later positively identified. I'm not sure if Sightings ever ran an update to this segment.
The drawings of the space aliens gave me the creeps. The ghost stories, not so much. I believe the first ghost story profiled on Sightings was the family being tormented by "Sally". Or was it "Molly?"
This show originally aired on Sunday's in Los Angeles, which made having to go to bed early a trial. Sadly, I never kept up with the show once it moved to it's Friday time slot.
"today i swear i'm not doing anything"
nah, it never scared me. now Unsolved Mysteries...that scared me. mostly the theme music. so creepy

The alien abduction stories always scared me as a kid. The story I remember most is the alien encounter with the 60+ schoolchildren. The pictures they drew gave me nightmares.
shareI thought the show was one of the most terrifying shows ever, especially the alien abduction segments and the re-creations of the experiences which I thought were very realistically done. They just don't make shows like this anymore, which is a shame. But I think this was one of my very first introductions to my lifelong obsession with the paranormal so was a very formative show in my development.
