Re-watching it again over 20yrs later
I loved this show in the 90s. For me it's up there with a lot of great 90s shows like Are You Afraid of The Dark, Eerie Indiana, Clarissa etc.
I have wanted to re-watch it for years but never did until recently, and in my opinion it still holds up well.
But having said all that, I would also love to see this re-made for Netflix. Today the opportunity for something like this is fantastic - TV shows are on the up, and I could definitely see it being a hit. But it needs to be done with kids still, with good actors, like the original and like newer hits like Stranger Things. If you change it to be with people in their 20s it risks becoming another generic twenty-something TV show. In fact, one idea which would be cool, is this still was set in the 90s and Jay was unaware of time passing by to the present day in his coma.
Bring back some of the talent from the original show too. Their talents would be a great addition and would help keep the new show grounded in the original concept.
