Ok, I know there was something that Murray would chase, but I never saw the episode where it was explained what he was chasing. What was it?

He was chasing what they believed at first was an imgainary mouse. Then later Jamie saw it.

Just watched it, and it wasn't as exciting as I thought it might be,

No, it's actually kind of anti-climactic. Jamie happens to be lying on the floor for unrelated reasons, and sees the mouse hiding under a piece of furniture.
