So Upset with the Box Set

There were a few two-part episodes that aired as one hour originally, but the box set separated them. I can get over that, but I don't like when they leave things out that originally aired. I just finished the entire series, and my favorite pet from the series finale was cut short.

When grown up Mabel is saying what happened to some of the characters, they cut out where she said Hal & Maggie were departed when it was discovered they were spies, the fact that Marvin is now a professional wrestler (but I can't remember his stage name), and my favorite one - Nat hosts the longest running dog based talk show "Hey there, Ho there, it's your dog there."

Why would they cut that out? To save space? Somewhat controversial?
