What if the franchise had ended 1998?

Suppose the final episode "Not to Be" had been the end of the Highlander franchise and the spin series The Raven and the last two films Endgame and The Source had never been made. Would you have been satisfied with the franchise ending this way?

reply

Yes. Everything that followed was really bad. The Source was an especially awful way to end the story of Duncan Macleod.

Yep, everything except "Highlander Reunion" - 2008. Very short but sweet episode with Joe, Amanda and Methos.

I only saw the premiere and parts of a couple episodes of Raven, it was okay at best, but maybe it improves later on.
I liked Endgame when I first watched it but I don't really care for it anymore, not terrible but it lacked the depth the series had.
The series was always better than the movies which were always too grandiose. Even the sword fights were better in the series which you wouldn't expect since they have much more time to practice and film the fight scenes.
The Source was truly one of the worst pieces of garbage ever put on film, even great the actors from the series couldn't save this from terrible movie infamy.

Well if that had happened, one thing is for sure. We would've missed Spoony's great riff/review of Highlander: The Source. :D If you don't know what I'm talking about and/or dislike that movie, follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDGon3ppy2U
