Finnished season 1.

The great thing about watching this nearly 25 years later is that my memories of it are so vague that it kind of feels like i'm watching it for the first time. There were whole episodes here i don't recall having seen at all.

It was about as weak as i expected it to be.As a fan i enjoyed it for the most part but it was basically an evil immortal of the week set up with no real story arcs except for the finale when they introduce the hunters.Pointless recurring characters like Sgt. Bennet,Randi and Lebrun who disappeared fast.Randi would have worked better as a potential love interest but with Tessa in the picture the character wasn't needed.I was surprised to see Amanda.I didn't think she showed up until season 2.

Notable cringe worthy moment:A scene in Mountain men where Duncan is running shirtless in slow motion through a stream with rippled ab muscles and long hair flowing that lasted a few seconds longer than it needed to.I felt like i was watching an ad for a sappy romance novel.

It gets better after season 1.

The first several episodes are alright but nothing special. The first really good episode I remember is The Sea Witch, the 9th episode of the 1st Season, and it gets even better when Darius is added, this is also the point where the sword fights start to get better.
The series get even better in Season 2 with the addition of the Watchers and the character of Joe Dawson, and seasons 3-5 the show reaches its peak.

Season 1's low budget lets it down. There's a few good episodes scattered throughout like Band Of Brothers, The Hunters... but it really gets going with season 2.

After you've Norwayed Season 2, it really starts to get good and once you've Swedened season 4, season 5 will knock your socks off.
