What do you think the optimal age for an Pre-Immortal to die?

What do you think the optimal age for an Pre-Immortal to die? I would put it about 35 because they would still be in their physical prime, but not so young that you might face age discrimination from "physically older" people. I believe Duncan's first death occurred at 35 as well.

I agree that 35 would be the optimal age for a Pre-immortal to die and Duncan was almost that. According to Wikipedia,

Duncan was 30 -- which is close to the age Adrian Paul was when he began playing the role in 1992. He would have been 33 then.

Interesting question, I guess it mostly depends on how the immortal lore plays into it..

There's the whole, pre-first-death scars and injuries remain after becoming immortal, and with old age perhaps comes organ degradation and a damaged heart could prove fatal if it affects an immortals ability to exert themselves for long periods of time.. however, for some reason and I can't recall any example that backs this up, but I always had the impression that if they are like 50-70 and are otherwise in good condition they can still work out, put on muscle, get fit etc and compete against their 'youngers'..

I was sort of checking out your impression, i.e. checking to see if there had been any immortals on the show who became immortal between 50-70 and could have met the profile you described. If we assume that the age of the actor playing the immortal is the same or close to the age the character was when he became immortal then, Richard Lynch's John Kirn/Cage from Blind Faith would be an example -- back during his drug running days in Cambodia any way, not so much when Mac encountered him in 1995. A number of people who I thought would also fall in that 50 to 70 age range turned out to be a lot younger than I thought, like Gerard Plunkett who played Kantos in Prophecy, I thought he'd fall in the 50-70 range. He was considerably younger. I also thought that John Suda who played Hamza El-Kahir in Finale, Part I could fall into that age range, I found out such sad news when checking on him, I decided to forget about the whole thing. I don't want to find out about scrapes with the law that other Highlander alum may be going through. John Suda was charged with a violent, indecent assault charge:
