It's been years since I've watched this series (like when it first aired) so can someone remind me how long Duncan was in the grip of the Dark Quickening? And what got him out of it?
I was discussing the show with a friend, and he thought Duncan killed Richie while in its grip, but I remember Richie dying later. Plus, I would likely have stopped watching the show if Duncan killed Richie, and I know I finished the series.
Duncan killing Richie was later on after the Dark Quickening was resolved. (Richie died at the end of season 5 the dark quickening was resolved end of season 4/beginning of season 5)
The Dark quickening only lasted a few episodes and was resolved when Duncan went on some kind of spiritual thing.

Next question: why did Duncan kill Richie if the Dark Quickening was resolved?
He got tricked into it (a demon was taking multiple forms and tormenting Duncan and he didn't realize it was the real Richie he beheaded till it was too late)

Dark started season 4 epi 13 to the next epi 14, with it being resolved with Methos knowing where and how to get Duncan back on track. Though did not start to get resolved with Richie till season 5 epi 2.
Richie was killed accidentally by Duncan when Duncan was being tested/tormented/haunted and more by a typed of old prophecy that had Duncan seeing things that no one else saw, at least at first, as later Joe also had some of the haunting as did another priest.
Am re watching myself again as has been a while, have new disk player, though know can watch online but like the special and extra that are on the disks, which is why I hope they will still make as online have never been able to find much of the special/extras that are on disk as had couple friends who live to far away to be able to borrow my disks.
