Would Batman still be Batman if he received quality therapy from a licensed psychiatrist?
Why hasn’t he tried this?
shareWhy hasn’t he tried this?
shareI guess it could play out along the same lines as Batman Forever; he'd end up still being Batman, not because he has to be, but because he wants to be.
shareWho doesn't want to be Batman?
shareI'd want to be Batman for one evening of beating down bad guys and leaping across rooftops.
But actually living Batman's life seems hellish. He's psychologically tortured, probably in constant pain from the never ending injuries, completely incapable of maintaining a healthy relationship, and spends half his life living a total lie. I'm gonna pass on that.
I'd totally be Nightwing though. He gets to do the crimefighting without all the baggage.
He would. He wants to stop the kind of people who killed his parents.
shareNot quite. Taking away Batman's crazy would seriously nerf him. It's what separates him from every other hero.
shareHe I think he did get therapy early on to deal with the loss of his parents, but I doubt he would be able to find someone he could trust to keep his identity secret while talking about his problems with the various villains he has to fight. One of the reasons he is Batman is because it's a way of dealing with his own psychological issues.
