Im just wondering if Gotham or Metropolis makes more money? I feel like Gotham solely depends on Bruce Wayne to support the whole city, while Metropolis being a much bigger city, has more people to contribute to bringing income to it, and I doubt superman aka clark kent does anything to help bring money into Metropolis.

Gotham, even with Batman is corrupt and full of filth and crime so if your talking about dirty money from that sure it would be large, that and Bruce Waynes fortune which is worldwide.
Metropolis is the city that every city would like to be, clean and nice to live in with a Hero they look up to as the American symbol. So iin taxes and people doing the right thing, plus Lex luthors fortune which is almost as big as waynes in many respects thought used for many underhanded things he was still a genius philanthropist sort of.
It really all depends how you mean.
