The Mr Freeze saga ended with ''SubZero''

As far as I'm concerned, this is where Freeze's storyline stopped.

What the team of writers did with the future series (ie. The New Adventures of Batman, and Batman Beyond) was absolutely ridiculous.
They effectively discarded everything that Mr Freeze was about, like they ignored everything that happened in the original series.

Writers: here's a bit of advice - know when to leave a character's story alone.
If you really had to revive the Mr Freeze character, you could have done it with another character (ie. a protégé who undergoes the same transformation as the original Mr Freeze).

Yes, but im glad Mr.Freeze was brought to an end, I thought he would never die and I get sick of hearing about he mourns his wife and stays trapped in an emotionless void because of it, him being trapt by his feelings got old, and im glad he could finally die and MOVE ON from all that never-ending pain he brought on himself. I am not a fan of freeze as you can tell

Don't lie to me and say you like me for my personality!

I see. If they had to kill him off, they could have had it that at the end of SubZero, after discovering his wife was alive, that finally 'gave up' and let himself be consumed by the cold. At least then he would have died a happy man, having fulfilled the only purpose that was keeping him going.

Not possible. It'd be like Clayface being consumed by mud.

Can't stop the signal.

For me the only post Sub Zero Mr. Freeze story arc in the DCAU that is worth a damn was his appearance in Batman Beyond. Ridiculous, sure, but I thought it was a nice swan song for the character.

reply

That was actually very good. Great line at the end where he tells Terry don't bother to save him, he's the only one who cares.

reply

Agreed. His demise in Batman Beyond provided closure and added more weight to that series...it was all gravy.

Wake up. Time to DIE.

Ends with Heart of Ice for me, as well. Didn't like Deep Freeze and SubZero was boring.

Whoa. No lie: just as I was reading through this thread, Cold vs Hot from the Batman Beyond soundtrack came on on my Ipod.

Fate agrees with me.
