I thought it was a refreshing episode about Bruce Wayne including an idea of what if he ended up in the middle of nowhere to be a slave and get amnesia but wants to get his memory back. It's quite Shawshank/Great Escape esque in tone plus gotta love that bluesy music score which i dug.

Who else thought Boss Biggus looked like and reminded anyone of B-movie actor Pat Ryan Jr and his evil fat slob mayor Bellgoody from Toxic Avenger and the sleazy junk yard dealer from Street Trash? i saw those a few years ago on video before i saw this episode at age 11 when the show first aired and he came to mind when i saw him.

While I wouldn't say favorite, I do think this episode is quite good and vastly underrated.

I liked that it tried to do something different and Bruce's dynamic with the other slaves was quite touching, but the episode really suffered from a lameass villain and the fact that the series hadn't really found its mature tone yet, if it had I imagine it could've dealt with the topic of slavery and corruption far better than they did.

Just my opinion keep in mind, it seems to be a pretty love it or hate it kind of episode amongst the fandom.

It's actually one of my favorite episodes. Great soundtrack, it's something really different but I wish they didn't use a one note villian. And one who sucked at that. But still it was a really good episode

But do you agree the villain was like the mayor from The Toxic Avenger and looked like him?
