I tried about 30 episodes, Unfortunately I could never get into it.
The neo noir atmosphere and dark appeal was great, I loved how it often felt a little trapped in the 40s. I just fount the stories to be bland. I don't need constant action, I prefer atmosphere and light action, but the stories always felt bland.

The stories never felt bland to me. The writing still blows anything that is made these days out of the water. I watch shows with my niece and nephew sometimes, and the garbage they release now is just sad. No substance, no character development and no antagonists that are fun to watch. This series is what got me into television and film as a kid. It's still holds up after 20+ years. I just started the series over (thanks to streaming on Amazon) and I feel like a kid again.
