Sheila's former girlfriend
JoBeth Williams' character tells Amanda that the woman Sheila (Lorraine Bracco) lived with for years ran off with a French architect. I always thought that meant she ran off with a man. But does it?
I realized how sexist that is to assume that "architect" means a man. It could have been a woman French architect. Anyone have thoughts on what was intended?
The reason I thought of this is because I heard a radio story about a 91 year old woman who still works at her architectural firm!
Also, I picked up that the reason it hurt Lorraine's character so much was that the girlfriend left for a man.
Anyway, I'm surprised this film has so many threads and current posters & topics! It is 25 years old this year - I cannot believe it!
