When was this film made?

Obviously the movie came out in 1991, but does anyone know when it was actually made? Presumably it was some time in 1990 I guess, but does anyone know for sure? It's just I was wondering whether it was made before or after Mark Calaway (The Undertaker) joined WWE in November 1990 or not, or if it was made whilst he was still Mean Mark Callous in WCW.

Lol I think it was 91' as this movie I read somewhere only took about 3 weeks to a month to film due to the budget ahahaah. But yet also, there was a couple of extras picked for the movie that Hulkster chose that he was friends with in the WCW from previous leagues. (As Mark was an existing bud of Hulk at the time too before he joined the WWF.)

3 weeks to a month??? They made this gem with such haste????

reply

hAHAHAAHAHAHA yes, cause I remember on my old Hulkamania 4 tape them going to the set and Hulks absences throughout the WWF season in 91 lasted about 3-4 weeks to a whole, when he decided to return at the Rumble.

It was the WWF at the time, and yes he was already there as The Undertaker. If I recall correctly, he's actually billed in the credits as "Undertaker." If you want I could check the credits on the DVD and check for sure. I know the film came out sometime when I was in the 6th or 7th grade, and we were all talking about the film particularly because The Undertaker made a cameo.

No he's not, in the credits he's credited as "Mark Calaway", which is why I asked if this was filmed pre-Undertaker.

reply

The Undertakee made his WWF debut in 1990.

the movie was made in 1990, it was made after Earthquake/John Tenta (R.I.P) put the hulkster out of the ring, that was the excuse anyway.

It was filmed between May 1990 through to August 1990, and released in 1991. The storyline with the WWF back then was to have the Earthquake RIP squash Hogan on the Brother Love Show which supposedly put Hogan out of action for three months which would free him from his WWF duties so he could go and shoot Suburban Commando. Hogan came back at Summerslam to wrestle Earthquake in August 1990 and from August onwards had a heavy wrestling schedule and couldn’t possibly have done any film work.
