Anyone else ever wonder if it was Kirk that was Vaporized on Rura Penthe and Martia the Chameloid took his place. It would explain a lot with Kirk not having any combat skills to fight the clocked *beep* at the end and just ordering the ship in reverse. How do we ever know which one died?
But that was after coming out of the Nexus. Perhaps the Nexus made that her permanent form out of... respect? Maybe because it could tell that was the form she wound up appreciating the most because of how it benefited her?
But really, "Iman" wouldn't likely have known all the historical stuff that Kirk talked about.
Hmm, I hadn't even noticed that before. Maybe because he seemed to be moving around too easily. And that would be the definitive answer for Kirk not actually being the one killed. But that raises a question too: Would the "jailer" have known that Martia could get out of the chains, and so the one still chained had to be the real Kirk? Maybe it didn't ultimately matter, since - as he said - they were all going to die anyway. But why shoot Martia first, if he KNEW it was really her, and if he INTENDED to shoot Kirk first?
Why does "kirk" point upward at like a 45 degree angle before he is vaporized in this scene instead of just pointing straight across. Then the real kirk points back but his arm is just straight pointing back in this scene. Hard to explain but it has always bothered me why they did this.
