No more birds of prey that can fire while cloaked?

Funny how that didn't come up again in the other movies and shows. That would be a great tactical advantage for the Klingons. But then Trek is notorious for creating new technologies and then promptly forgetting about them/ignoring them in subsequent films and TV series.

Exactly. That ability to beam across the galaxy would have eliminated the need for starships.

And the ability to cure anything with Khan's blood would have eliminated the need for a sickbay - and McCoy.

They're always pulling this stupid sh!t. Yet, I keep on coming back to watch them, over and over. I guess that makes me the moron.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

There was an entire fleet of them but they were all eaten by a Doomsday Machine.

Surely not...

The problem is that they forgot how to make catalytic converters in the 23rd century. If they had them, they wouldn't have to worry about being detected by the damned tail pipe emissions.. Al Gore in the 23rd century could have made the Klingon's a real threat..

And as long as we're picking on Trek tech, the Enterprise could detect life on planets light years away, but they couldn't scan for impulse engine emissions?

The ship was a prototype and when it was destroyed, it had the entire design team on it and the only copy of the blueprints. What's so hard to understand about that?

reply

Show how dumb the Trek universe can be. Everyone knows the Chinese would have hacked and downloaded the blueprints..

reply

Perhaps the technology was too difficult to replicate. They built the prototype to test the concept but found it lacking for some reason to continue.

reply

Kind of like the Pegasus situation in TNG.
