THEY WERE INNOCENT

Okay so me and my mom watched this movie for about the billionth time tonight and we noticed somthing. Techincally the guys didnt kill Wayne. The train did.

Okay so heres the thing... Wayne's stab wound prolly would have been fine if he were treated quickly enough. What jimmy should have done was drug him out of the tunnel and went and gone to get help. HE LEFT HIM TO GET HIT BY THE TRAIN. I garantee it was the train that killed him and not the stab wound.

So in my oppinian they didnt really kill Wayne. Im acutally kinda frustrated that Jimmy did drag Wayne out of the tunnel. There was time. But instead he just left him there.

And another thing.. The cop asked what was wrong and he didnt say anything and then instead of running inside and telling his parents what happend he sat on the steps and said nothing. Jimmy was not the smartest kid!

So im 99.9% sure it was the train that killed Wayne and the ass hole Greaser kids. Jimmy should have drug him out of the tunnel.

HONESTLY!

well if he hadnt been stabbed in the first place he wouldnt have to have been dragged out of the tunnel in the first place.

on top of that.. jimmy was a young kid and his brother told him to run. i dont think he was stopping to think about it or whether or not he could help drag his brother to safety... especially with the bad guys still right there.

and even if he had told the cop what happened... or gone in to his parents.. wayne was already dead. so it wouldnt have helped him anyway.

they may not have been the overall reason wayne died.. but they were in no way INNOCENT as your title says.

Ya I agree that they were not innocent. They were terrible dicks who decided to screw with kids smaller that them eh. However i just find it common sense to drag him out of the tunnel becuz the guys were to busy trying to save their asses to wrry about it. I see what you mean about him being a young kid.

Plus Jimmy was probably in shock, he probably couldn't have told the cop what happened otherwise he would have.

I also agree that Jim was scared and in shock over what he had just witnessed. The whole event was traumatizing for him. When asked what was wrong, he wasn't in the right frame of mind to say anything.

They are not innocent. They took them hostage in a tunnel which led to his death; even if he weren't stabbed. As for the stabbing, all of those involved are equally responsible for him being stabbed under current conspiracy laws.

I thought it was the train that killed him too. But Jimmy was so much smaller that I don't think he could have dragged Wayne out. He was a prepubescent boy, so dragging a teenager a whole foot taller than him out of there would have been too hard. He did drag him to the side off the tracks. Wayne would have been safe on the side if the train hadn't plowed into the car.

However, notice how the bullies, who were bigger and stronger than both brothers, did not grab Wayne, put him in the car with them, and attempt to either drive out with him or carry him out. Wayne would have never been stuck bleeding to death in there if the bullies had not stabbed him.

Personally, I thought they were dumb to get back in the car at all. Even if they had the key, the time it would have taken for them to all jump in and start it up was too long. They should have just left it...but they were greedy and valued their ride even more than Wayne

In medical terminology.. the exact location of the stab wound would've very easily damaged sensitive and yet vital organs. Such as intestines, colon, blatter etc. etc.

The biggie would be how deep did the blade indeed go in. If it would've went in until the blade was no longer visible.. slow and yet painful death from organ failure. If there was a colapse on the stomach region the blade could've very easily caused primary nerve damage within the spinal column and cause both organ failure and permanent paralysis to the point of being in a vegetative state and dying.

Factor in timeline.. a lot of the medical technology during the 50's and 60's was nowhere near what it was during the 1990's. Chances of survival were not present during those times after taking an injury such as that.

Not to mention.. you specified how Lawson, Vinnie and North were indeed innocent. On the level of the Department of Justice if someone stabs another while aided by others in anyway deemed innocence? Because the last time I checked that would be deemed 1st Degree Manslaughter.

What it all boils down to is they were "Guilty" and then they were justified by their unatual irresponsible death. However I would've much rather loved the 55 Chevy lived on.. the only justice it should've ever been granted was leaving the competitions in its dust.
