How did she manage to get a job? Did she have fake ID with her fake name? What about renting the house? Did people really allow people to move in with no background or credit check then?

In reality I don’t think she would have actually been able to do these things. Although Ben did help her to find the job so maybe the employer was a bit more lax with background checks etc as he knew her.

But she would still have to fill out the forms for income tax and resident identification.

She was meticulous in her planning. She may have prepared a false ID in advance before she faked her death. It's not as difficult as you think, if you know how or have the money to hire someone who knows how to do it.
