People mistakenly think that’s the last line of the film. It’s not, “Thank you I appreciate that” is the last line

Leaving aside the completely irrelevant dialog between Chilton and the man picking him up from the airport, the last line of the film in fact belongs to Starling as she repeatedly calls out "Dr Lecter?" over the phone.

Nope it belongs to Dr. Chilton, he has the actual last line.
