One question I've always had, how did he get her up and down the well?

How did Buffalo Bill get his victims up and down the well so easily? I know it's never explained. Could he have had sedated them lowered them down with a rope, and then pull the rope up? And did he only pull them up after they had died? A ladder? It's a pretty far drop, so I can't imagine it would be easy.

In the trivia section, it mentions that the actress accessed the well through a small door at the bottom, which was covered up with dirt. The well is actually a set made to project through a false floor.

I think the OP means in the movie, not the behind the scenes tricks with the actresses, but actually in the movie with the victims.

It isn't explained though there is a rope and pulley system thus you have the lotion basket. He punched out Catherine in the van, so he could have knocked the victims out cold, or drugged them, but probably out cold since he had the fake cast on his arm and that could have been hard enough to knock someone out.

Possibly then used a rope to lower them into the well.

He would starve his victims, to loosen their skin, though he gave scraps. But after starving, he would then murder.

We can assume he used a ladder.
