This movie just shows the extremes some people will take for their beliefs. Its fine to be religious but going to the extreme of starving yourself in the middle of the desert and murdering your daughter is just too far. And unfortunatly in this world of ours people will actually do and have done those extremes and it's terrible. Like I said it's fine that you have religion but completely stopping living your life is just something I can't co-sign. Just spending your whole life living in fear of something that may or may not be inevitable is just stupid and boring you have to make the best of the time you have and live your life to the fullest I'm not saying go out and do drugs and what not but restricting yourself from experiencing new things and just waiting for death is at least in my eyes no way to live your life. I just think you go CRAZY by doing stuff like that.
I think this movie was produced by people who had no idea about faith, God, or life. From the get-go, the main character played by Mimi was totally unrealistic. This is not what having God in your life is about.
This movie is crazy, and life can be crazy; but the reality of spirituality and having God in your life is the only sane thing there is. I don't know how people cope without it. It's all about forgiveness and understanding - unconditionally. It's about being able to live without guilt and understanding that if we're forgiven then we can forgive others, too. And with this state of mind, we can be in a great place, emotionally. And if we feel great on the inside then it doesn't matter so much what is happening on the outside, because we feel strong. This is the main thing Jesus came to tell us - about forgivenes, to throw away guilt, to believe in Him, his words, because they will set us free from guilt and shame. The inner world is the important place to be aware of: our thoughts, our emotions. And when God speaks to us, He speaks to us throught our heart...through loving/joyful feelings that sweep over when we pray. This has been my experience. This is reality.
He asks for nothing except that we show others the same understanding, forgiveness and kindness that He shows us. However, it can be very difficult to always show this to others as some people are terribly damaged and/or irritating. In this way we need to 'crucify' our ego, the need for self-gratification, by focusing on the other person's needs and understanding each person is doing the best they know how to do at this point in their life.
What u said is totally true, and should be that way to christians, but hard fact says other-wise,other words it is easy say than done,I believe that's where faith and prayer comes in.
