What do we think about after seeing this film?

I started thinking a lot of God and looked on other religion then I made a list of most favorite and most least favorite religion, Buddism happens to be my most favorite. I thought about becoming a Buddist because in that religion there is no history of war or dictatorship or domination in that. Plus it is all about numerous chances redemptions, where as in born-again-christians and so on, they have one or two chances for redemptions.

I was deeply religious when I saw this years ago and it was such a well-done film it sent me away from religion forever (well, and other things helped). Sharon sums it up: "God has too many rules." And they're too arbitrary and inconsistent to be created by anything but "imperfect" humans. Best to just be nice to each other and enjoy your time while it lasts and not worry about it too much. And ice cream helps sometimes.

I agree with you, that is my religion, I believe that God would want us to enjoy life to it's fulliest and not worry about the end of the world or no end of the world. He will judge us when we die but untill then relax.

Lemme tell you, it is ME, your companion, your fellow Earthling, who want you to enjoy life to its fullest and not worry about the end of the world or the absence of it.

There's no need to assume the existence of any god to make your earthly life - the only life you will ever get - worthwhile.

No one will judge you when you die - but you. So relax, and do some good. Unto yourself, and unto others. Just because you happen to like that, and because you know it's good for this good old Planet.

This really sums it up. The film confirms our worst suspicions that "god" (were he to exist) is a real @sshole. And who would want to spend their life trying to please someone/something so arbitrary, egotistical and cruel?
