"Lady, you are about 1/2 a bubble off the plumb..." - Quigley

"Don't just stand there, get him!!!" - Marston

My favorite:

"Don't worry, on a new job it's quite common for things not to go well at first." - Cora

Starting with Cora, Quigley, and Marston (Laura San Giacomo, Tom Selleck, Alan Rickman) this western is a memorable line goldmine. What are your favorites?

That would have to be

Major. We already run the misfits outta our country. We sent 'em back to England.

Classic!

reply

Quigley after gunning down Marsten and his men:
"I said I never had much use for one. (a gun)
I never said I didn't know how to use it"

reply

"why dont you and i take our clothes off and go swimmin'?

reply

"Why, shame on you!!!"

My...my...ain't you purty, and just look at them shiny shoes!

reply

"I said I never had much use for one,
I never said I didn't know how to use one"

I absolutely LOVE this line! The point in the movie at which it is said makes it doubly so.

This is my all-time favorite quote for any movie! What makes it great is the fact that he's answering the snobby Major!

Crazy Cora: Are we lost?
Matthew Quigley: Nope! I don't know where we're goin', but there's no sense bein' late.

reply

You sure look pretty in the mornin' sun.

reply

"This ain't Dodge City and you sure as hell ain't no Bill Hiccock."

I think that's it.

reply

After Cora tells the story of how she accidentally killed her baby, "and then he rode away and he never looked back. I know because I watched to see if he would."
It was sad and riveting, and made me just love Crazy Cora! This movie kicks ass!

"I know a little German. He's sitting right over there."

reply

After Quigley knocks Marston out the window, Marston utters...

"No man knocks me out of my own house!"

Got to love that line!

reply

my favorite quote is when Quigley and Cora are bought "back to life" by the aboriginies and cora notices the marks on thier forehead
Quigley: I reckon thats something out of the south-end of a north-bound Kangaroo.

reply

Shortly thereafter, when the aborigine woman offers them the worms, Quigley says "I don't eat things that are still movin" and Cora says "What are you gonna do, shoot it?"

reply

[deleted]

"Matthew Quigley is really beginning to annoy me."
Classic.

Major Ashley-Pitt: In our experience, Americans are uncouth misfits who should be run out of their own barbaric country.
Matthew Quigley: Well, Lieutenant...
Major Ashley-Pitt: Major.
Matthew Quigley: Major. We already run the misfits outta our country. We sent 'em back to England.

hahahahaha

reply

You took mine!

I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney, than driving with Ted Kennedy

Gotta be:
Crazy Cora: You know, if we're lost, you can tell me.
Matthew Quigley: We're lost.
Crazy Cora: I can take bad news. Just tell me straight.
Matthew Quigley: I don't know where the hell we are.
Crazy Cora: No sense takin' time to make it sound better than it is.
Matthew Quigley: I reckon we're goin' in circles.
Crazy Cora: Wire things up and I'll see right through. So, just tell me honestly. Are we lost?
Matthew Quigley: Nope. I know exactly where we are.
Crazy Cora: That's good, 'cause, frankly, I was gettin' a little worried.

reply

Marston: "No man knocks me out of my own house!" *Gets knocked out of his own house for a second time* "Well, what are you standing around for? Get him!"

~I alone could hear the music~

reply

reply

Quigley: "I'm new here...so I ain't rightly certain...is everyone in this country as butt ugly as you three?"

Quigley: "What's my name today?"

Cora: "Well, what good are horses if we die first?"
Quigley: "Once in a while she actually makes a little sense."

Quigley: "I wish people would stop hitting me on the head."
Cora: "On a new job it's quiet common for things not to go well at first."

Cora: "I don't know him. I never saw him before."

Cora: "Told ya, only my Roy could hit a coyote from that distance."

The best one....

Marston: "Oh, shut up."

reply

"well pardon the hell out of me"
cora
LOL she was great

reply

Elliott Marston: An experimental weapon with experimental ammunition.
Matthew Quigley: You could call it that.
Elliott Marston: Let's experiment.

reply

Elliott Marston: Some men are born in the wrong century, I think I was born on the wrong continent... By the way, your fired.

Besides my favourite too, it has to be the best timed line delivery in the movie. It just comes out of left field. I first saw this movie in a theatre, and still remember how the audience burst out laughing at this line, which wasn't easy to notice since I had just blown the soda I was drinking out through my nose when I started laughing. Such a mundane observation in a situation of such gravity, completely unexpected.

reply

"I don't want you to go."

"You sure look pretty in that new blue dress."

"You go after Marston, he'll kill you."

"Kid, next time she talks like that, pee all over the dress."

reply

This is also my favorite, and I've used it a time or two to co-workers going through a rough patch. Only one person ever recognized it.

reply

When Quigley returns the the dingo cave and brings Cora the dress, she asks "Is it purty?"

"Looks good on me!"

reply

The DVD is packed away for moving, thus I cannot give the exact line, but my favorite is when Marston is told of a rumor that a very large bounty will be paid to the man who kills Quigley. Upon being told the source of the rumor, he tells one the men to "give him my hat and coat and tell him to stand on the front porch", or similar.

reply

Rickman: Are you quite sure you don't want the bucket a little closer mr. Quigley?

Quigley: Shoots and hit bucket.

Quigley: Quite sure.
