The second in command's hat.

The guy that is Marston's second in command, (either dobkin or o'flynn, I can't remember) is usually seen wearing this brimless hat. Does anybody know what that kind of hat is called? Is it a beret, or a balmoral, or what?

reply

It's a balmoral.

I thought balmoral was just a font. :P

I have also wanted to know the type of hat. My question is, what type of badge is it that he is wearing on the hat?

reply

It's a Scottish clan badge. I never got a good enough look at it to tell which clan.

The badge is a British army regimental badge, that of the 17th Lancers, known as the "'Death or Glory Boys". The 17th took part in the Charge of the Light Brigade.

I have one of those myself!!!!
