How Did He Know She Was Killed In The Shower?

Theres some mention that Marion Crane (i believe thats who they're refering to) how do they know she was killed in the shower if they weren't there?

Remember that Dr. Richmond was the doc at the end of Psycho (1960) who gave the little speech at the end... I am sure with the psycho-therapy, Norman said he killed Marion in the shower.

Oh ok that makes sense, it just came off as if he watched the movie and knew intimately about it as if he had seen the movie or something.
