Psycho V
Man forget the remake of psycho.
they should do "the son" of Norman Bates for a Psycho V. Isn't that how the 4th one ended with a baby?

Or, alternatively, they could just quit now and leave well enough alone. ;)

That would be pretty cool to have Oz Perkins playing as Norman Bates' offspring. Containing the seed of Norman Bates, the one in which Norman's mother carried. The Oz Perkins character could learn of his origins and get the hotel up and running again and get a new house and then go mad one way or the other. Maybe use Norman's body just like the way Norman used his mother, OR he can use his own mother's body (Norman's wife) and it will start all over again.
shareI love all the installments of the psycho series, so at first feel i want it to go on, but i don´t want another part that ruins psycho as a series.
The problem isn´t to make another sequel, it´s makeing a good one. So unless someone comes up with a really good script, i say leave it as the masterpiece it is. And besides it can´t be the same without Anthony Perkins.
Maybe there would have been a Psycho V by now if Anthony Perkins wouldn't have died.

Of the credited actors as of today's date these people are the only ones still alive:
Vera Miles
Patricia Hitchcock
John Gavin
Of the uncredited actors as of today's date these people are either still alive or have no date of death listed (however, since most of these people are little known it is possible that some or all are dead but no one reported it to IMDb):
Fletcher Allen (last credit - 2004)
Paul Jasmin (last credit - 2006)
Prudence Beers (last credit - 1960, Psycho)
Muriel Bradley (only credit - 1960, Psycho)
Margaret Furrer (only credit - 1960, Psycho)
Lee Kass (last credit - 1960, Psycho)
Lillian O'Malley (last credit - 1962)
I'm actually writing a "Psycho V" of sorts where Norman is dead.
"A boy's best friend is his mother." Yeah. Norman Bates needs a dog.
Wikipedia says there's a rumor of a sequel titled Psycho: The Legacy that might happen. Doubtful.
Maybe they should adapt Robert Bloch's sequel novels. Psycho 2 had Norman escaping to a movie set based on his life, and a third called Psycho House, where the house and motel become a tourist attraction.
Ok...
Then Norman can be a pro dirt cyclist and we can call it "MOTER PSYCHO".
Trust me,
Swan
The Psycho II book was really terrible. The book started off great, and then totally fell apart at the end. Terrible twist.

Yep, you got it. I didn't really want to state the twist but, you did. Yep, turns out that Norman was killed in self defense very early on in the Psycho II book and his doctor is the crazy one. Why would the doctor just be the killer? That's not really explained.

I read that Anthony Perkins WAS filming Psycho V when he died; not enough filming had been accomplished to complete the film.
shareI still want to see a Psycho V!!! I can not stand to see Norman Bates not dying even though he turned into a good guy at the end. He still needs to die because he killed a lot of good people in the past.

I'm absolutely sure that I read it somewhere, perhaps in an old obituary. But I'm not sure whether or not it's really true. But I remember him saying in an interview that he'd love to continue the role into the future, that it was "the Hamlet of Horror films."
sharewow really? aww man i wished he had finished it.
shareAnthony Perkins was DEFINITELY NOT shooting Psycho V when he died or at any time. He completed IN THE DEEP WOODS a few months before his death and after that would have been too ill to make another film. Not that there ever was a Psycho V on the cards anyway. It never happened and was never planned.
Thomas, if you is a mouse catcher, I is Lana Turner - which I ain't...
NO MORE SEQUELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Psycho is a dead franchise, let it RIP!
Chris "Pillsberry" Gottschalk
again, always wanted to see adaptations of Robert Bloch's two other novels. Doubtful, but a part 5 would probably be a modern teen slasher with no Norman, just someone possing as him and his mother.
Gus Van Saint ever mention a new remake? A non clone remake. I thought I heard that years ago too, along with PSYCHO 2 sequel to the first remake.

I have no idea if this is true or not but there was a claim probably not a trust worthy claim that when Anthony Perkins died he had been working on a Psycho V.

I hope the series is left alone. I think it's a wonderful series, all 4 parts, and the sequels are unfairly dismissed because they are continuations of Hitchcock and a lot of people find that disrespectful. In my opinion, that 'Hamlet of horror films' comment is very apt, these are character studies about a man who wants to be normal but just can't. Very sad when you think about it. Personally, of the 4 films, "Psycho II" is my favorite and I think it's one of the best sequels ever made.
"I've flown this route before."
"When was that?"
"IT WAS ON THE WINGS OF A DEMON!"
