This is why I love these movies...

The fact that any kind of psychiatric institution would let a man out for a SECOND time after he killed even more people, in even more gruesome ways than before.

Just like in Halloween 4, Dr. Loomis seemingly survives being incinerated in a hospital with just a few burn scars and a limp.

Stuff like this is where these movies get their charm!

Although it isn't explicitly expressed in the film, Psycho IV is meant to bypass/ignore the events of II & III.

reply

Actually it isn't, seeing as they mention the events from part 3.

Hmmm, now that you mention it, CA had some budget cuts under Governor Reagan who cut funding to mental hospitals, so they let some of the psychos out. That was in the mid 70's however, perhaps it crossed over into the 80's? So perhaps Norman's freedom is a product of that? (psycho films set in CA)

But In the halloween films they never "let michael out" he would just always escape.

Ahh, gotta love the govt., and politics, right?

But politics aside, I love these movies!

I like this movie, but it's probably not my ideal prequel for the series. Maybe something a little subtle
