It says on wikipedia that director Gus Van Sant is planning a sequel to Psycho IV. And it's coming sometime next year. Sant considered Hayden Christensen to play Norman Bates in the new sequel.

i dont see anything about this on wikipedia. its prob rubbish, a psycho movie without tony perkins would be like an indiana jones movie without harrison ford, plus there was 4 films already, 5 if u include BATES MOTEL, no need to make another movie. its finished.

we all go a little mad sometimes....

Are you sure Gus isn't planning a shot-by-shot remake of "Psycho II"?

Well I don't believe any sequel will be coming, but I do remember Gus once planned another remake of the original, one that's not shot-for-shot.

I would like to see a film adaptation of Robert Bloch's two sequel novels PSYCHO 2 and PSYCHO HOUSE.

I don't remember caring for House.. but.. I was actually HOPING for the Psycho re-d0 to actually SUCCEED.. in only that MAYBE someone would actually finally film the book adaptation of Psycho II.. *sigh* that would have been a MIND BLOWER of a movie for 1982.. post Scream and Usual Suspects though.. not as much..

Interesting. I kinda had an idea for a new movie. It takes place a few after Norman Bates was murdered. (If he was) Someone else runs the motel and lives his legacy or something.

Why not another reboot? Except this time, don't do a shot-for-shot remake. It could still have the famous shower murder scene but make it completely different while still including the motel and mansion on the hill.
